Dr. Ramon Resa is a father – and a pediatrician who has been treating children and their families for more than 20 years.
Based on his personal and professional experience, he speaks from the heart about the most important concerns of parents today – how to raise healthy, confident, resilient, stress-free children.
He’s passionate about helping families cope with the health issues that threaten children today – the early signs of later disease such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, and especially the dangers of stress-filled, over-programmed lifestyles for children and teens.
He also offers an inspiring message about how perseverance, resilience, hope, and education can give meaning to a life, and give life to our communities.
Ramon's story -- from abused, impoverished child laborer to successful pediatrician -- has inspired and informed parents and children, educators, teachers, counselors, medical professionals, and business groups across the country.

Ramon's story...
Growing up as a farm worker in a family of 15, Ramon never imagined he could become a doctor. Abandoned by his impoverished single mother, who had 5 kids before she was 20, he grew up in an environment of severe poverty, neglect, abuse, and a total lack of regard for education. At the age of 3, he was picking cotton in the fields of central California .
It was Ramon's elementary-school teachers who instilled in him the dream of going to college and becoming a doctor.
It wasn't easy. He had to overcome low self-esteem, a speech impediment, recurring depression, prejudice, discouragement from counselors who wanted him to settle for taking wood-shop courses, and even opposition from his grandparents, who wanted him to get a factory job and pay them back for taking him in.
But he persisted and fulfilled his dream. After graduating from UC Santa Cruz, he attended UC Irvine Medical School, did his pediatric residency at UC San Francisco, and opened his private practice. For the past 20 years, he’s been practicing in the same rural area where he grew up.
“My young patients remind me of the child I was,” he says. “I want to be a role model, and to care for their minds and spirits as well as their bodies. My mission is to help children and their families improve their health and their lives in any way I can.”
His parenting topics include: children’s health as a whole-family concern, helping children cope with adversity, childhood depression, coping with school challenges, goal attainment, life balance, overcoming obstacles and achieving dreams, mentoring and inspiring young people to achieve, motivation, parenting college-bound children, helping at-risk and first-generation college-bound students and their families, and overcoming speech impediments.
Ramon and his wife Debbie have two college-educated children, a daughter and a son.

Gideon F. Mukwai
NATURAL DISASTER EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS
Originally from Cameroon, in Central Africa, Gideon F. Mukwai is the founder of
XtraMile Emergency Solutions. He is the author of “Facing Adversity with Audacity” and
serves as the Chief Preparedness Officer of XtraMile Solutions, leading emergency
management training and consulting programs around the world.
Prior to coming to US, he had a global career in emergency management. He was
previously a senior fire officer with the Singapore Civil Defense Force where he served in
multiple roles. Initially, he was a commander of a hazardous materials special response
team and subsequently appointed to serve as a senior instructor in charge of corporate
training programs. During his tenure as a senior civil defence officer, he trained thousands
of uniformed officers for the Singapore Police, Navy and Civil Defense forces.
In 2004, he founded XtraMile Solutions, a training outfit that specializes in emergency
preparedness for corporations. He has since delivered training programs in Singapore,
Hong Kong, Malaysia, South Africa, the U.S. and Canada.
He is a currently a graduate fellow working toward an MA degree in Interactive
Environmental Journalism at the Reynolds School of Journalism, University of Nevada,
Reno. This year alone, he has given over 4 presentations on the use of new media across
different fields.
Gideon has been speaking professionally since 2004. In 2005, he was the public
speaking champion of Singapore and the first runner up in five countries in South East Asia.
Last month, he was the Speech Champion at the University of Nevada, Reno. While in the
U.S he has also won several speaking awards in Nevada.
He currently serves as the President of the International Council, International
Association of Emergency Managers. In this position, he coordinates activities of regional
emergency representatives in three continents.

BNC will be a weekly and soon daily TV channel for selling Green Products and other Industries on KXLA channel 44. Channel 44 is seen in all 6 counties and carried on all cable and satellite companies in Southern California. BNC will go national based on 1000 exhibitors.
The BNC TV channel will invite the TV audience to come into our “Center for New Products” department store to see the products that are not seen in other chain stores. Our 89,000 sq. ft. store will be at the Burbank Town Center Mall at 3rd and Magnolia. We will have walk-in locations in every county in southern California, and your product should be in all of them.
